Concrete Efforts Must Reflect in Revenue Collection – Principal Secretary T. Ravikant

Udaipur. The Department of Mines and Geology has intensified its efforts to boost revenue collection, with Principal Secretary Shri T. Ravikant emphasizing that recovery efforts must translate into tangible results. He directed officials to ensure timely collection of dues without any laxity.

He underlined that the state government has launched an Amnesty Scheme with attractive concessions for old dues, and officers must coordinate with defaulters to secure recoveries while encouraging them to avail the scheme’s benefits.

Reviewing departmental progress at the Mineral Bhawan in Udaipur, Ravikant instructed that monthly installments of RCC-ERCC contracts should be recovered within the first week of every month. He also stressed 100% recovery of old dues, current dues, and penalties imposed during actions against illegal mining. He noted that the state government has significantly increased the department’s revenue targets for the current financial year, which must be achieved through coordinated efforts.

Congratulating the department for achieving first rank in the auction of major mineral blocks at the national level, he urged officials to maintain the same pace in auctioning minor mineral plots as well. He reiterated CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s clear message: Rajasthan must emerge as the leading state in the mining sector.

Ravikant further directed strengthening of the DMGOMS system and making departmental operations more effective and paperless. Additional Director (HQ) Shri Mahesh Mathur assured that the department, under the guidance of the Chief Minister and the state government, will set new benchmarks in the mining sector.

Financial Advisor Shri Girish Kachhara informed that daily monitoring of revenue collection has begun, with progress being reported regularly to the state government. He acknowledged that unforeseen factors had impacted revenue collection but assured that shortfalls will be covered in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by Superintending Mining Engineer Dr. Dharmendra Lohar, Shri Bhim Singh, Shri Kamleshwar Baregama, Shri Satish Arya, Superintending Geologist Shri Gopala Ram, Shri Nitin Choudhary, ACP Shri Jayesh Neenama, and other senior officials.
