Mutual Cooperation Leads Us to the Pinnacle - Girdhari Lal Sharma

Walking through the corridors of the education temple after 60 years has filled my heart with joy and delight," said former District Education Officer Girdhari Lal Sharma in his presidential address. He was speaking at the monthly reunion ceremony of the Alumni Association held at the Vivekananda Hall of MB College.

Recalling the names of his peers who reached great heights, Sharma emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and knowledge exchange that benefited everyone and led to remarkable achievements in their respective fields. He mentioned that he still harbors a desire to learn new things.

The event began with a welcoming address by Council Secretary Shantilal Bhandari. The council also unanimously approved the increased membership fee. Membership is open to individuals who studied at MB College before 1985, and they are invited to attend events with their spouses.

Secretary Dr. R.K. Garg read the report of the previous monthly meeting, which was approved by the assembly. Four members born this month and two new members were welcomed with a tilak and garland. The new members included Bhanwarlal Pokharna, retired Chief Manager of SBBJ, who graduated with an M.Com 64 years ago, and Ashok Jain, retired General Manager of RSMML, who studied there 60 years ago. The assembly welcomed the new members with applause.

In celebration of International Yoga Day, Dr. Rakesh Dashora explained the significance of mudra science to the members. He highlighted that along with asanas and pranayama, specific hand mudras play a vital role in maintaining health. For controlling memory loss in old age, he suggested sitting in a meditation mudra and rotating fingers clockwise and counterclockwise for 15 minutes every morning and evening. He also mentioned that the Vayu mudra is an effective remedy for joint pain, and the laughter mudra and yoga are excellent for stress relief. All members pledged to practice the taught mudras regularly for their benefits.

In the cultural segment, Shivratan Tiwari recited a poem reflecting today's scenario, "Padhe Likhe Parinde Qaid Hai Machis Ke Makaan Mein," Chandra Singh Jain performed "Duniya Paiso Ri Pujari," Mrs. Manju Sisodia sang the film song "Saiyan Dil Mein Aana Re," Mrs. Sita Sharma performed "Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana," Indramal Patwa sang "Ek Banjara Gaye," Jagat Singh Parwana performed "Khoya Khoya Chand," Ravindra Bhatnagar sang "Hothon Se Chhoo Lo Tum Mera Geet Amar Kar Do," and Suresh Sisodia recited touching poetry.

The proposal to hold the next meeting as a picnic, put forward by the Secretary-General, was unanimously accepted. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and a moment of silence in tribute to the departed members.
