Udaipur,In a moment of pride for Udaipur, two distinguished Sanskrit scholars from the district have been selected for prestigious state-level honours to be conferred by the Government of Rajasthan during the upcoming Sanskrit Vidwat Samman Samaroh. The awards recognize significant contributions in the fields of Sanskrit language, education, and culture.
Dr. Bhagwati Lal Sukhwal will be honoured with the Sanskrit Vidwat Samman, carrying a cash prize of ₹31,000. The award is bestowed upon scholars who have made long-standing contributions to the propagation of Sanskrit.
Dr. Pankaj Marmath, an emerging young talent in the field of Sanskrit, will be awarded the Sanskrit Yuva Pratibha Samman, which includes a cash prize of ₹21,000.
In addition, Shri Shailendra Patidar from Udaipur has been selected for the Mantralayik Seva Samman, with a cash reward of ₹11,000.
The announcement has sparked a wave of joy among Sanskrit enthusiasts and educators across Udaipur. Local Sanskrit institutions have expressed pride in the achievements of these scholars, calling it a matter of honour for the district.
The Sanskrit Sadhana Shikhar Samman, the highest honour in the ceremony, will be presented to Kailash Chandra Mundra from Chittorgarh.
The awardees were finalized during a meeting of the State-Level Selection Committee held in Jaipur under the chairmanship of Sanskrit Education Minister Shri Madan Dilawar. The honours will be presented at a state-level function on August 7.
Committee members present in the meeting included MLA Gopal Sharma, Joint Secretary Shri Kailash Chandra Yadav (representing the Department of Sanskrit Education), Prof. Jyotsna Vashishtha (Head, Sanskrit Department, University of Rajasthan), Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma (Associate Professor, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University), Hazari Lal Bairwa (Principal, Government Acharya Sanskrit College, Talabgaon, Dausa), Prof. Dr. Shalini Saxena (Government Maharaj Acharya Sanskrit College, Jaipur), Dr. Jitendra Kumar Agrawal (Joint Director, Sanskrit Education, Rajasthan), and Ms. Priyanka Jodhavat (Commissioner, Sanskrit Education Department).
