Maharana Bhupal College Alumni Council Holds Monthly Reunion Meet

Udaipur: The monthly Sneha Milan (reunion) ceremony of the Maharana Bhupal College Alumni Council was held at the college’s Vivekananda Auditorium. The event was presided over by Council President Prof. Maheep Bhatnagar, with General Secretary Shantilal Bhandari, Dr. K.L. Kothari, P.K. Vardiya, Shiv Ratan Tiwari, and M.P. Jain present on the dais.

In his welcome address, General Secretary Shantilal Bhandari shared that the Council has completed 15 years and announced that the upcoming annual celebration in August will honor seven members aged 90 and above, and sixteen members aged 80 and above.

Prakash Tated conducted the program and presented the monthly report, which was unanimously approved by the house. Members celebrating birthdays this month were felicitated with warm wishes for their long and healthy life.

Sita Sharma: “Darshan Do Ghanshyam Nath Mori”

Sanjeev Bhardwaj: “Baat Muddat Ke Baad Ye Ghadi Aayi”

B.L. Chawat: “Hothon Se Chhoo Lo Tum”

Vimal Sharma: “Rimjhim Gire Saawan”

Smt. Mukul Bakshi: “Saawan Ka Mahina”

Sharda Talesra: “Saawan Aayo Lahariyo Rangwa De Rasiya”

In the poetry segment:

Dr. K.L. Kothari recited “Hai Barkha Tu Varas Varas”

Vardhman presented “Dharti Ro Hariyalo Anchal”

Shiv Ratan Tiwari moved the audience with “Ram Virah Geet” and a poignant Mewari poem highlighting the plight of school teachers.

Prof. Maheep Bhatnagar delivered an inspiring talk on the significance of the phrase “Dhai Akshar” (two and a half letters—symbolizing love or knowledge in Indian philosophy). Shivdan Singh mesmerized the audience with a soulful flute performance.

Colonel Abhay Lodha shed light on the life and legacy of Thakur Amar Chand Barwa, the former Prime Minister of Mewar, and described the striking power of the last surviving Loadchi cannon from his era. Prof. Vimal Sharma also introduced the audience to the first authentic publication on Barwa’s life and contributions.

The ceremony concluded with a two-minute silence in memory of a departed senior member. Following the national anthem, all participants enjoyed a warm community meal, marking the end of a heartfelt and culturally rich gathering.
