###Ajmer and### Udaipur City Railway Stations Awarded Prestigious 'Eat Right' Certification

Ajmer. Two major railway stations under the Ajmer Division — Ajmer and Udaipur City — have been awarded the prestigious ‘Eat Right Certificate’, issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in collaboration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This certification is granted only after strict compliance with food quality and safety standards defined by FSSAI.

Launched in 2018, the Eat Right initiative was extended to various railway stations under the directive of the Chief Medical Director of North Western Railway, with headquarters overseeing its implementation.

As part of the certification process, food establishments at both stations underwent extensive external auditing across multiple food safety parameters. Following the identification and correction of deficiencies, all working food handlers at these stations were given basic training as per FSSAI standards, conducted by FSSAI’s private training partners. Upon final auditing, Ajmer and Udaipur City stations were granted the certification.

This achievement owes special credit to Additional Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Ajit Singh and Ajmer Division’s Food Safety Officer Mr. Manoj Sinha, who initiated the Eat Right process at both stations in 2024. Their efforts focused on implementing FSSAI’s golden rules, licensing, food handling practices, garbage collection with color coding, pest control, and more — all in alignment with the required standards.

The program’s success also saw contributions from the Chief Health Director and Joint Food Safety Commissioner – Jaipur, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager – Ajmer, FSSAI Master Trainers, ERI Ajmer, food canteen managers from Ajmer workshop, State Food Authority – Ajmer, IRCTC representatives, and various railway health inspectors.

Similarly, in Udaipur City, the role of FSSAI Master Trainers, Auditors, Food Handlers, ACMS Rana Pratap Nagar, ARO, Station Superintendent, CMI, CHI Udaipur, and State Food Authority – Udaipur was pivotal.

With the Eat Right Certification, railway passengers at Ajmer and Udaipur City stations can now be assured of access to safe and hygienic food. The certification is valid for a period of two years, from June 30, 2025, to June 29, 2027.

Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Raju Bhutada called this certification for both stations a significant achievement for Ajmer Division.
