Triumph Unfolds: MPUAT Waves the Banner of Success for Third Consecutive Time

Udaipur.Madar and Hunadar villages, administered by the Badi Gaon Panchayat Samiti, have once again clinched the prestigious title of Smart Villages under MPUAT for the third consecutive time. This remarkable feat has earned accolades from the Governor and acknowledgment from the University's Chancellor, Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka.

MPUAT's transformative endeavors have effectively metamorphosed these villages into Smart Villages, in alignment with the University's Social Responsibility initiative. A thorough review of the innovative initiatives and activities undertaken from January to March 2024 has garnered praise from the highest echelons of governance.

Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka commended the various teams of MPUAT for their grassroots interventions, which have not only bolstered agriculture but also brought about significant socio-economic and educational transformations. Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), projects exceeding Rs. 1.5 crore have been implemented, visibly enhancing the rural landscape.

Today, both villages celebrate every international day as a festival, symbolizing their changing fortunes. Both the Vice Chancellor and Governor have borne witness to the evolving face of these villages.

Dr. Karnataka highlighted the collaborative efforts between MPUAT and the villages, resulting in a plethora of skill training and integrated farming activities for livelihood opportunities and economic empowerment. The University's scientists and officers have inspected the implementation of action plans during 42 visits. Additionally, 36 one-day training sessions have benefited 2311 farmers and farmwomen.

Dr. R. A. Kaushik, Director of Prasar, revealed the impact of MPUAT's collaboration with national agricultural programs, showcasing improved wheat varieties and vegetable production in exhibitions held on 6 farmers' fields. Afforestation initiatives, supported by Gram Panchayats and the Forest Department, saw the planting of 175 trees of neem, karanj, jamun, subabul, and moringa. Veterinary camps vaccinated 360 animals and treated 590 sheep and goats. Medical camps treated 93 patients and provided free medicines. Notably, drones were used for nano-urea application on wheat crops, demonstrating innovation in agricultural practices.

The presence of Vice Chancellor Dr. Ajeet Kumar, Dr. R. S. Rathore, Coordinator Smart Village, and fertilizer vendors' trainees marked the success of these initiatives.
