Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka Conferred with Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Educationist Honor

Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, the Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, was awarded the prestigious "Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Educationist Honor" on March 11, 2024. The honor was conferred upon him at Geeta University, Panipat, Haryana, during the sixth meeting of plant science researchers organized by Plantika, the Plant Science Researchers Association, Dehradun.


Dr. Karnataka was recognized for his dedicated efforts in advancing education and research. His journey as an educator began at Acharya Narendra Dev Agriculture and Technology University, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, followed by a long tenure at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. During his tenure at Pantnagar University, he served in various administrative roles and spearheaded initiatives for student welfare.

Before assuming the responsibility of Vice-Chancellor at MPUAT, Dr. Karnataka served as the Vice-Chancellor of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar, Uttarakhand, and Dehradun University. Under his leadership, MPUAT has achieved a prominent position among all universities in the state. Notably, during his tenure, MPUAT has signed bilateral agreements with prestigious institutions like Western Sydney University, Australia, and Central Luzon State University, Philippines, to enhance education and research collaboration.

Dr. Karnataka's tenure has also seen significant strides in research, with MPUAT obtaining patents for 13 technologies and designs. The research outcomes from MPUAT have been published in 71 highest-scoring Scopus H-index journals and 85 Google Scholar H-index journals.

The award ceremony at Geeta University, Sonipat, was attended by dignitaries including Shri S.P. Bansal, Chancellor of the university, Shri Ankush Bansal, Pro-Chancellor, and Prof. Gulshan Chauhan, President of Plantika. Over 350 national and international scientists, broadcasters, entrepreneurs, and industrialists were present at the event.

Faculty members of MPUAT extended their congratulations to Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, expressing joy over the progress being made under his leadership.
