MPUAT Concludes National Training Program on Natural Farming for Environmental Sustainability

Udaipur,  The closing ceremony of the 21-day national training program on "Natural Agriculture - Direction and Status for Resource Conservation and Environmental Balance" took place at the Maharana Pratap Agriculture and Technology University, Udaipur. The event, presided over by former  Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Uma Shankar Sharma, marked the successful completion of the program sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Uma Shankar Sharma emphasized that natural farming aligns seamlessly with environmental considerations. This agricultural approach not only protects the environment from contamination but also enhances soil health. By incorporating elements used in natural farming, beneficial microorganisms in the soil increase, ensuring sustainability in crop production. Dr. Sharma distributed certificates to all participants after the conclusion of the 21-day training and urged them to play the role of brand ambassadors in their respective states.

Dr. Arvind Verma, Director of Research and Course Director, provided detailed insights into the training curriculum. He highlighted that the program included 33 theoretical lectures, 8 practical training sessions, and 7 training excursions. Dr. Verma stressed the need to develop a robust literature on natural farming and recommended disseminating training records through platforms like YouTube and other social media channels. This approach aims to raise awareness among scientists and the general public about the benefits of natural farming.

The event was attended by dignitaries such as Dr. R. A. Kaushik, Director of Broadcasting Education Directorate, Dr. Amit Trivedi, Regional Director of Research, Udaipur, Dr. B. L. Baheti, Director of D.R.I., and Dr. Ravikant Sharma, Deputy Director of Research. The program was conducted by Dr. Latika Sharma,
