Dedicated Polling Teams Cross Rivers Amidst Jungles to Reach Voters' Homes

Udaipur : The fervor for Indian democracy continues to amaze the world. The electoral process of the world's largest democracy has become a subject of study for many universities. While the strength of democracy depends on the enthusiasm of voters, it also lies in the dedication of personnel involved in the electoral process. This commitment is evident in the sight of home voting witnessed during elections. Polling teams, carrying voting materials, are trekking several kilometers on rocky paths to reach voters' homes and facilitate voting.

The Gogunda assembly constituency, nestled amidst the Aravalli sub-ranges in the Udaipur parliamentary region, is considered a challenging terrain. Here, tribal populations reside amid mountains, jungles, and river streams. Despite the geographical challenges, the polling teams are unwavering in fulfilling their duties. On Wednesday, the polling team number 1, led by senior officer and his team, traversed through jungles and crossed a river on foot to reach the home of senior citizen Nojki Devi in Magha village, Gogunda assembly constituency, and facilitated her voting.

Instances of polling teams reaching remote and challenging locations for conducting voting have been reported earlier in the Gogunda and Jhadol constituencies as well.
