Anushree from Bari Sadri Shines on KBC, Wins 6.8 Lakhs

Udaipur:  Anushree Samota, a 15-year-old from Bari Sadri, realized her dream of sitting on the hot seat with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in the popular quiz show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC). Demonstrating her talent, Anushree successfully answered questions and won a total of 6.8 lakhs, navigating through two rounds before deciding to leave the hot seat after the 12th question due to uncertainty. She utilized all three lifelines during her appearance.

The episode aired on October 31, creating a festive atmosphere in Bari Sadri. To celebrate, a large LED screen was set up at the main Clock Tower square, drawing a considerable crowd eager to watch her performance.

Anushree shared that she had been aspiring to participate in KBC for the past 15 years. To achieve this, she consistently played along on the Sony Liv app, which eventually led to her selection for the KBC India Challengers Week. Her audition involved a personal interview and a general knowledge test, after which she was chosen for the Fastest Finger First round in Mumbai. After successfully completing that round, she reached the hot seat.

Her journey has been particularly inspiring given her father's battle with blood cancer for the last 11 years. During his chemotherapy, he developed shingles, resulting in damage to one ear. When her father was diagnosed, Anushree was in the 12th grade. She was motivated by someone who told her that if she excelled in her studies, her father would recover faster. This became a source of inspiration for her, and she achieved first place in her district in the 2014 12th-grade board exams. Currently, she is preparing for civil services.

Anushree credits her success to her late grandfather Rodelal Samota, her mother Manjula, her father Anil Kumar, her brother Jai, as well as her entire family, teachers, mentors, and Dr. K. Azam, a retired IFS officer. She emphasizes that despite facing difficult circumstances, her parents always prioritized their education and dreams. She urges all parents to support their children's aspirations, stating that if you desire something passionately, the universe will conspire to help you achieve it.

**Brother Jai's Role in a Film on a War Hero**

Anushree's brother, Jai Samota (23), has been appointed as a research consultant for a film based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Shaheed Shaitan Singh, who was honored for his bravery during the India-China war in 1962. Recently, filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar announced a film titled "120 Bahadur," focused on the Battle of Rezang La, where he will portray Major Shaitan Singh. Jai has spent nearly four years gathering information on Shaitan Singh's life across various locations in India and has previously authored books on 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees. He is now conducting research on the 1962 war.
