District Collector Reviews Progress of Public Welfare Schemes

Udaipur,  Under the chairmanship of District Collector Namit Mehta, a significant meeting was held on Wednesday via video conferencing to review the implementation and progress of various public welfare schemes across Udaipur district. The Collector directed officers to resolve pending cases swiftly and execute developmental projects in mission mode.

Food Security and Poverty Eradication

Special emphasis was laid on food security and poverty alleviation. The Collector instructed that all pending applications under the Food Security Scheme be resolved within 15 days. District Supply Officer reported that out of 17,306 applications received under the NFSA Phase II, 9,472 have been approved, and 45 were rejected.

In regard to the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Poverty-Free Village Scheme, Zila Parishad CEO Riya Dabi informed that 122 villages have been identified, with 832 BPL families shortlisted. The Collector instructed all SDMs to personally verify the selected families.

'Karmabhoomi to Matribhoomi' Campaign & Water Conservation

The Collector emphasized implementing the 'Karmabhoomi to Matribhoomi' campaign on a mission basis and ensuring timely reporting on the portal. He also prioritized water conservation, instructing SDMs to submit action plans for water recharge, create recharge pits for handpumps, and raise public awareness on water saving through meetings with donors and stakeholders.

Timely and Quality Redressal of Public Grievances

All SDMs were asked to ensure quality resolution of complaints received on the Sampark Portal, especially those pending for more than 30 days. Focus was laid on strengthening grievance redressal at the gram panchayat and panchayat samiti levels. Additionally, SDMs were directed to submit any new land allocation proposals apart from those announced under the budget.

International Yoga Day Preparations

Preparations for International Yoga Day, to be celebrated on June 21 at district, block, and panchayat levels, were also discussed. This year’s theme is “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” District Panchayat CEO will act as the nodal officer for panchayat-level celebrations. The Collector stressed the presence of public representatives and protocol adherence, with practice sessions to be held by June 20.

'Hariyalo Rajasthan' Campaign – 3.8 Million Trees to be Planted

The Collector announced a target of planting 38 lakh trees under the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ campaign. In view of early monsoon, SDMs were instructed to conduct block-level meetings, finalize plantation sites, and ensure adequate nursery stock.

Monsoon Preparedness and Seasonal Disease Control

In light of the upcoming monsoon, orders were issued to establish control rooms in each tehsil by June 15 and conduct mock drills for flood preparedness. SDMs were instructed to inspect all dams, ensure availability of relief equipment, address waterlogging issues, and assess the availability of pumps and resources.

Focus was also laid on preventing seasonal diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and scrub typhus. CMHO Dr. Ashok Aditya informed that control rooms have been set up at district and block levels. Jhadol, Kotda, and Girwa were declared highly sensitive areas for malaria. Measures such as door-to-door surveys, daily monitoring, water drainage, and fogging were emphasized. PHCs were instructed to procure fogging machines within 10–15 days.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Collector (Administration) Dipendra Singh Rathore, Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash, Zila Parishad CEO Riya Dabi, UDA Secretary Hemendra Nagar, and other key officials. All SDMs joined via video conferencing.
