###Dynamic Preparations for Rajasthan By-Elections: BJP Charges Ahead, Congress Lags Behind

Following the BJP's defeat in by-elections for 13 legislative assemblies across seven states, preparations are now underway for upcoming by-elections in other states, including five legislative assembly constituencies in Rajasthan. Despite the Election Commission of India not yet announcing the election dates, it is speculated that the by-elections for the vacant seats in Rajasthan will be held in October or November, along with other states.

Several MLAs contested in the recent Lok Sabha elections, and five of them emerged victorious. Interestingly, none of these newly elected MPs are from the BJP. The vacant seats include Khivsar (Rashtriya Loktantrik Party's Hanuman Beniwal), Jhunjhunu (Congress' Brijendra Ola), Chaurasi in Dungarpur district (Bhartiya Adivasi Party's Rajkumar Roat), Deoli-Uniara (Congress' Harish Meena), and Dausa (Congress' Murari Lal Meena). After their victory in the Lok Sabha elections, these leaders resigned from their MLA positions as per protocol.

In anticipation of the by-elections for these five assembly seats, the BJP has commenced its preparations. A significant meeting took place at the party's state office, attended by key figures like Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and state president CP Joshi. Following this, a comprehensive state executive committee meeting was held in Jaipur, where newly appointed ministers Bhupendra Yadav, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Bhagirath Chaudhary were felicitated. These meetings have laid out the BJP's strategy for the upcoming elections, with the party's high command tasking the state leadership with election preparations. State BJP leaders are touring these constituencies, rallying the cadres and office bearers, with CP Joshi actively visiting areas like Khivsar and Jhunjhunu, and planning a visit to Dausa.

Conversely, the Congress party appears sluggish, although they recently held a meeting in Jaipur to welcome the newly elected MPs and discuss election strategy. Notably, CPI's Amra Ram from Sikar participated, while Hanuman Beniwal and Raj Kumar Roat were absent.

Both BJP and Congress are formulating their strategies for these by-elections, but the political equations seem to be forming differently. While the BJP plans to contest alone, the Congress will contest alongside its alliance partners. Both parties face internal factionalism, with BJP contending with discontent from senior leaders like former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and senior minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena. The Congress, dealing with the absence of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot due to health issues, relies heavily on state president Govind Singh Dotasra and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot, who is often occupied with central duties.

Examining constituency-wise, Deoli-Uniara MLA Harish Meena has become an MP, leaving a void yet to be filled by Congress, likely dependent on Meena and Pilot's approval. The BJP is expected to nominate a Gurjar leader, deemed essential for victory. In Dungarpur's Chaurasi constituency, the Congress will likely ally with the Bhartiya Adivasi Party, with the BJP considering former MLAs for candidacy. Jhunjhunu, traditionally dominated by the Ola family, will see intense speculation over BJP's candidate. In Dausa, the BJP is strategizing based on caste dynamics.

These by-elections are pivotal for both parties, with BJP aiming for victory in each seat. Although traditionally, the ruling party benefits more in by-elections, Rajasthan's caste-based politics makes predictions challenging. The outcomes of these elections will significantly influence the future political landscape for both Congress and BJP, especially serving as a crucial test for Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. The results will also impact the opposition's strategy against the state government and future Rajya Sabha elections.

The forthcoming by-elections in Rajasthan will determine whether Congress or BJP emerges victorious.
