Programs and campaigns launched across the state on PM’s Birthday

India's pride on the world stage has increased under the Prime Minister's effective and efficient leadership - CM Bhajan Lal Sharma

- Chief Minister launches 'Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan-2025'

 

Jaipur/New Delhi, September 17.  On behalf of the 8 crore people of the state, Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma extended his birthday greetings and best wishes to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that under the Prime Minister's leadership, India has made unprecedented progress in the last 11 years. From Digital India to Make in India, from the Jan Dhan Yojana to Ayushman Bharat, he has taken India to new heights in every field. Today, India is the fourth largest economy in the world and is poised to become the third largest very soon.

Shri Sharma was addressing the launch ceremony of 'Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan-2025' held at City Park in Jaipur on Wednesday. He said that the Prime Minister's effective and efficient leadership has transformed India. He has always emphasized cleanliness, and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is an example of this. He said that under the Prime Minister's leadership, since 2014, the welfare of the poor, the elimination of terrorism and Naxalism, and India's growing prestige in the world has enhanced India's credibility globally. His vision has also led to social work being undertaken through various campaigns. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign have brought positive change to the country.

 

Toilet construction has increased from 38% to nearly 100% in the last 11 years.

The Chief Minister said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched on October 2, 2014, has become a mass movement. In 2014, only 38% of households in India had toilets, but with the construction of over 11 crore toilets, this figure has now reached close to 100%. He said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has also played an important role in waste management, water conservation, and environmental protection.

 

Jaipur Ranks in Top 20 in Swachh Survey

CM Sharma stated that Rajasthan has achieved historic achievements in the Swachh Survey. Both Jaipur Municipal Corporations (Jaipur Greater and Jaipur Heritage) have ranked among the top 20 nationally. He added that Dungarpur received the National Award in the Super Clean League of Cities. Both Jaipur Greater and Jaipur Heritage received a 3-star rating in the Garbage-Free City category. He added that Jaipur Greater also received the Water Plus Certificate for the first time, which will further strengthen the state's position in future rankings.

 

New Records Achieved in the Hariyalo Rajasthan Campaign

The Chief Minister stated that we launched the Hariyalo Rajasthan Campaign last year, under which our government has set a target of planting 500 million trees in five years. He stated that last year, we planted 75 million trees, exceeding the target of 70 million trees, and this year, we have already planted 120 million trees, surpassing the target of 100 million trees. We are setting new records under Hariyalo Rajasthan.

 

Keep your neighborhood clean; build a clean and healthy Rajasthan

Mr. Sharma said that the Prime Minister had said in his Mann Ki Baat program that along with the joy of festivals, we should also pay attention to cleanliness. A clean environment increases tourism and provides employment opportunities. He urged everyone to keep their homes clean and their neighborhoods clean, leading to a clean and healthy Rajasthan. He said that every citizen must come forward for cleanliness. Our goal is to make every city and village in Rajasthan clean.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to all citizens to actively contribute to the creation of a clean India and make cleanliness a part of their lifestyle. He also administered the cleanliness pledge to the public. Earlier, the Chief Minister participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan with the public in the City Park premises. He also planted Kadamba and Kalpa trees in the venue and gave the message of environmental protection.

At the event, Mr. Sharma released the sewerage policy, distributed PPP kits to sanitation workers, and honored beneficiaries of other schemes. A short film of the Jaipur Swachhata Yatra was also shown. Minister of State for Urban Development (Independent Charge) Shri Jhabar Singh Kharra, MP Smt. Manju Sharma, MLA Shri Gopal Sharma, Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr. Soumya Gurjar, Deputy Mayor Shri Puneet Karnawat, Secretary, Local Self Government Department, Shri Ravi Jain, officials from the concerned departments, and a large number of members of the public were present during the event.
