Last week, a five-day online faculty development program was organized at Geetanjali University on "NAAC Accreditation and Evaluation of Health and General Universities." In the inaugural address of the program, Professor Shailendra Saraf, Dean of Raipur University, former Vice President of Pharmacy Council of India, and Senior Evaluator o fNAAC, emphasized the need for NAAC evaluation of educational institutions and said that the system of the institute in the new format of the nose would help in quality upliftment.
The institute's teachers have an essential role, and their proper training is critical. This teacher training program discussed all the points ofNAAC evaluation in detail and emphasized that all educational institutions should come forward voluntarily and apply for nose assessment to enhance the teaching quality of the institute. It is noteworthy that out of 1043 universities and 42343 higher educational institutions in the country, only 392 and 8483 are rated and accredited by the NAAC, respectively.
Given this, the University Grants Commission has made nose assessment mandatory for all types of higher educational institutions in its quality mandate. In this training program, eminent educationists of the country expressed their views on the evaluation procedure of NAAC. During this five-day program, Prof. Santosh Bhujbal of DY Patil University of Maharashtra, Dr. Sridhar Pai of Manipal University, Dr. Hemant, Dr. Piyush Pahe, Dr. Deepak Nanware from various colleges of Maharashtra along with Dr. Rupesh Shukla and Dr. Dinesh of Madhya Pradesh. On the first day of the program, Dr. Mahendra Singh Rathore, Faculty of Pharmacy, Geetanjali University, delivered his lecture on general information on NAAC assessment. Mishra gave information on the seven criteria of NAAC, and Dr. Chetan Singh, Dr. BP Nagori, Dr. Rajesh Asija, Dr. Dharmendra Ahuja of Rajasthan, Dr. Vipin Saini of Haryana, and Dr. MS Pancholi of Gujarat presided over various sessions of the program.
In this program, 210 faculty from various country educational institutions participated and received training. In the program's closing ceremony, Professor Harish Kumar Gupta, Vice-Chancellor, MM Deemed University, Mullana, Ambala, who was decorated with the highest grade (A++) byNAAC, shared his expertise and experience of the institute during the NAAC accreditation.
In organizing this training program, Climed Research Solution of Gurugram and IQAC Cluster of Maharashtra were co-partners. Dr. Ajit Singh, the CEO, cli MED, proposed the vote of thanks in the closing ceremony. The Vice-Chancellor of the institute, Dr. FS Mehta, Registrar, and University Management sent congratulations to the Principal of Geetanjali Pharmacy, Dr. Mahendra Singh Rathore, and other teachers shared blessings to participants.
