Chittorgarh: The Directorate of Research at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) conducted a two-day training program for extension officers on crop diversification and value addition. The program was held at the Agricultural Office in Begu Chittorgarh.
Dr. Hari Singh, the Project Officer, provided insights into the importance of crop diversification and value addition, emphasizing how farmers can enhance their income by diversifying and adding value to their produce. The chief guest, Mr. Shankar Lal Jat, Deputy Director Horticulture, Chittorgarh, spoke about the significance of value addition in increasing agricultural productivity and land fertility.
Mr. Harikesh Chaudhary, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Begu Chittorgarh, highlighted the importance of crop diversification in improving soil health and increasing market prices. Mr. Mukesh Vamar, Joint Director of Horticulture, discussed the techniques and management of horticultural crops for value addition. Mr. Jogendra Singh, Agriculture Officer, Chittorgarh, provided detailed information on the management of orchard crops, including disease diagnosis and prevention.
Dr. Buddhi Prakash Meena, Veterinary Officer, Begu Chittorgarh, addressed the participants on livestock improvement and management as part of integrated farming. Dr. Hansraj Dhakad, Agriculture Officer, explained various government schemes related to agriculture.
The program was attended by 40 agricultural supervisors and extension officers. The event aimed to equip them with knowledge on crop diversification and value addition strategies, contributing to the overall improvement of agricultural practices in the region.
