DBI Federal Life Insurance Spice Coast marathon will be held on 15th November 2015

Kochi, Kerala, India : IDBI Federal Life Insurance and Soles of Cochin today announced the launch of IDBI Federal Life Insurance Spice Coast Marathon 2015. The marathon will take place in Kochi on 15th November 2015. The course for the full marathon is certified by USA Track & Field (USATF), which enables qualified runners to participate in international races such as the Boston Marathon and the London Marathon.
Present at the launch were Vighnesh Shahane, CEO, IDBI Federal Life Insurance; Dr. K N Raghavan, Customs Commissioner, Cochin; Ramesh Kanjilimadhom, Soles of Cochin Runners Club; Balan Kartha, Regional Director, Y's Men’s Club and P V Antony, Managing Director, Medical Trust Hospital.
About 3000 spirited runners and athletes across all categories are expected to participate in this edition of the marathon. While IDBI Federal Life Insurance has sponsored the marathon, Soles of Cochin will organise and manage the same.
IDBI Federal Life Insurance Spice Coast Marathon is a road running race starting and finishing at K K Premachandran Sports Complex in Willingdon Island. The event includes 3 race categories - Full marathon (42.2 km), a Half marathon (21.1 km) and a Family Fun run/ Dream run (5 km). The race is open to all amateur runners. Registrations are currently open at http://www.spicecoastmarathon.com. The full and half marathons are timed events and are designed for the serious and passionate enthusiasts, while the Dream Run (5 km) includes participants from all walks of life, individuals of any age, families, corporate groups, NGOs and charity groups, and others. Registrations for the dream run will be declared open shortly.
The registration fees for the full marathon, half marathon and the dream run are Rs. 950, Rs. 850 and Rs. 500 respectively. The full marathon will commence at 4.00 am, the half marathon and the dream marathon will start at 5.00 am and 7.00 am respectively.

The large extent of the route for the 2015 edition of IDBI Federal Life Insurance Spice Coast Marathon is in the naval area and it has complete support from the naval board. The running course will take all participants through 42 historical landmarks of Kochi that will inspire and motivate all, to perform better and reach the finish line.
An Expo will be organised on 14th November to engage participants and help them interact with each other before the race day. Additionally, there will be marathon stalwarts who will interact with participants. All participants will be handed over a goody bag containing the GPS enabled bib, branded t-shirts, sponsor materials and a route map.
Awards: IDBI Federal Life Insurance will felicitate a total of 30 winners in 5 categories each, for both men and women. The top 3 winners from each category will win medals on the race day. All full and half marathon finishers will be awarded personalised completion medals. There is no prize money involved in this marathon.
