Effective Therapy Key to Development of Children with Autism

Udaipur:  a workshop organized at the Navratan Complex-based Veda Child and Neuro Care Center shed light on neurodevelopmental issues and autism. Dr. Anshita Arora emphasized that in India, one out of every 40 children exhibits symptoms of autism. However, with various types of therapy such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Occupational Therapy, not only can improvements be made, but these children can also lead easier lives while maintaining their daily routines.

She revealed that this center has now collaborated with the renowned institution Butterfly Learnings, making it the first center under one roof to provide medical consultations and various types of therapy. Kamal Chheda of Butterfly Learning Center explained that the center will offer oral placement therapy and other forms of therapy depending on the severity of the child's condition, determining the duration and frequency of therapy required per month and week. After therapy, children can attend school and engage in regular activities like typical children.

He noted that compared to parents in metropolitan cities leading busy lives, parents in Udaipur seem less aware of this condition. Even though warning signs are indicated, serious consideration is not given to it. Dr. Sonam Kothari, co-founder and CEO of Butterfly Learning, stated that Butterfly Learning will be introduced in Udaipur to provide specialized services to children and families. In India, nearly 3 million children suffer from autism, with at least one in eight experiencing a neurodevelopmental disorder (between 2-9 years of age). Unfortunately, there is a lack of appropriate scientific perspective for medical provision due to the small number of standalone clinics currently available to parents.
