Ensure Quality by Being Positive and Pre-Active

Udaipur – Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Mrs. Gayatri Rathore, conducted a comprehensive review of departmental schemes under the State Review Mission on Saturday. The meeting was held at the District Council Auditorium and attended by key officials and department heads. Based on inspections carried out by state teams at various healthcare institutions across Udaipur district a day prior, a detailed presentation was delivered.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Rathore emphasized the importance of a positive and pre-active approach in operations and instructed all officials to proactively identify and rectify deficiencies in their respective institutions. She said that timely resolution of issues would lead to substantial improvements in the quality of health services.

District-Level Reviews to Align with State Goals
District Collector Namit Mehta informed that the District Health Committee's performance will now be reviewed based on state-level targets. The state team presented a detailed progress report on Udaipur’s health services. Key topics discussed included audits of maternal and infant deaths, promotion of institutional deliveries, status of flagship schemes, fire safety audits, and claim processing under the 'Maa Yojana'.

Focused Efforts on Immunization and Screening
Special emphasis was placed on bridging the gap in MR immunization, especially in light of its national significance. Directions were given to ensure that under RGHS, only specialists prescribe medications. Discussion also included TB screening for disabled individuals, and the distribution of nutrition kits with support from social organizations.

Swift Rectification of Shortcomings
Special campaigns like Ramashray, Mission Madhuhari, and Mission Liver Smile were highlighted for priority implementation. The need for full utilization of trauma centers, sonography, and hemodialysis machines in rural areas was also stressed.

Further instructions were issued to ensure proper biomedical waste management in all health institutions and to train staff accordingly. Immediate action was also directed for pending cases related to food and drug safety.

Mrs. Rathore reviewed the presentation on gaps identified during inspections by ten state-level teams conducted the previous day. She instructed officials to ensure that all identified issues are promptly resolved for improved service delivery.
