Water Crisis Sparks Protest Preparations in Manvakhera Gram Panchayat*

*Udaipur, Near Manvakhera Gram Panchayat -* The inadequate supply of drinking water has left the residents of Manvakhera Gram Panchayat in distress, prompting the Mevad Farmer Struggle Committee to prepare for a protest. A meeting was convened in the gram panchayat on May 10, 2024, where it was decided to launch an intense agitation if the issue remains unresolved by the said date. It was agreed upon that the authorities would be surrounded, followed by a massive procession to encircle the Water and Sanitation Engineering Department located at Patel Circle. A sit-in demonstration would then be staged until a resolution is reached. Until then, daily corner meetings will be organized to rally public support against this pressing issue.

Vishnu Patel, the coordinator of the Mevad Farmer Struggle Committee, expressed dissatisfaction with the administration's lack of seriousness in addressing the matter, despite the locality being just 5 kilometers away from the district headquarters. The meeting was attended by key members of the Struggle Committee, including Premchand Patel, Bhupendra Rao, Jamna Lal Dangi, Ramlal Dangi, Bheru Lal Rao, Abhishek Rao, Indra Meghwal, Uday Lal Gameti, among others. To ensure the effectiveness of the protest, deputy sarpanch Shambhu Lal Dangi, ward members Narayan Dangi, Ambalal Dangi, Modi Ram Dangi, Pratap Singh Chundawat, Narayandas Vaishnav, Toli Ram Dangi, Prakash Dangi, and Lakshmi Lal Dangi have been assigned specific responsibilities.
