Performance of 'Sankraman' Play at Darpan Auditorium, Shilpgram

On Sunday, the monthly theater evening 'Rangshala' organized by the Western Region Cultural Center, Udaipur, took place at the Darpan Auditorium in Shilpgram.

Furqan Khan, the director of the Western Region Cultural Center, Udaipur, informed that the play 'Sankraman' was staged under the banner of Abhinay Gurukul Actors Studio, Jodhpur, during the theater evening 'Rangshala'. The audience praised the play immensely. The play is written by the late Shri Kamatnath and directed by Aru Vyas. Six artists participated in this play, and the audience appreciated their lively performances.

On this occasion, former additional director of the center, H.L. Kunawat, former program officer and senior theater artist Vilas Janve, and program officer Pawan Amaravat congratulated the artists. The program was conducted by Durgesh Chandwani. Officers and employees of the center were present at the event.

Plot:
'Sankraman' primarily narrates the story of the testimony between father, son, and mother, depicting the daily struggles between father and son. Here, the father establishes the significance of his daily struggles, sacrifices, and life experiences, where the listener is always his wife. The father finds his life's truth meaningful from his perspective, but the son continues to question his father's perspective because he has not seen the struggles, sacrifices, and experiences his father has gone through. The clash of these two perspectives crushes the mother, who cannot stand on either side, but as time passes, her husband's behavior becomes a kind of transformation that spreads from every father to his son. This play raises questions about the so-called 'generation gap' and 'ideological differences' between father and son. The son, who questions his father's authoritative behavior, but when he himself becomes a father, he finds himself in the same position."
