American Acting Ambassador and Minister Counselor Impressed by Mewar's Local Culture and Heritage*

Udaipur,  Acting Ambassador Patricia A. Lacina and Minister Counselor of Public Affairs Gloria F. Barbena from the United States Embassy in New Delhi arrived in Udaipur on Saturday for a three-day visit to Udaipur and Pali districts, aimed at promoting tourism.

In an effort to boost tourism, Udaipur district officials, under the direction of District Collector Arvind Posawal, facilitated their arrival at Maharana Pratap Airport. Subsequently, Tourism Deputy Director Shikha Saxena acquainted them with the city's art and culture heritage. They toured the City Palace, where they were briefed on Mewar's art, culture, and heritage by officials from the tourism department. They also explored the intricacies of silver jewelry and the crystal gallery. They further visited some parts of the City Palace to learn about historical facts.

Following this, they visited the Vintage Art Gallery in the vicinity of Panchvati area, where they gained insights into painting techniques and color blends, and purchased some paintings. They also bought some silver jewelry and items from the nearby Saheliyon ki Badi Art Gallery.

The Tourism Deputy Director mentioned that the team would depart for Ranakpur in the Pali district on Sunday. After spending the night at Jawai, they will return to Udaipur on May 6 and then depart for New Delhi.
