### ‘Delhi Bus’ Trailer: A Heart-Wrenching Reminder of the 2012 Incident

Mumbai, The horrific incident of December 16, 2012, that shook the entire nation is being brought to life through the film ‘Delhi Bus’. The trailer of the film, which was stuck with the censor board for six years, has now been launched and approved for release.

Trailer Brings Back Memories of the Nirbhaya Case

The 1-minute-43-second trailer serves as a grim reminder of the 2012 Nirbhaya case. It depicts a couple stranded on a Delhi road at night due to a broken-down bike. After being denied help by an auto driver, they board a bus that offers them a lift. However, the six men already on board lose control upon seeing the girl, leading to a heinous and tragic act of brutality.

A Tribute and a Call for Change

Director Shariq Minhaj stated, “This film is a tribute to Nirbhaya, the brave soul who fought for her life and dignity after the 2012 barbaric gang rape. Through this film, we aim to bring about societal change and highlight the atrocities and challenges faced by women.”

Censor Board Challenges

Actor Tahir Kamal Khan, who plays a pivotal role, shared, “We have tried to portray the harsh realities through this film. The censor board raised objections to certain scenes, and it took us six years of persistent effort to finally get the film approved.”

Cast and Release Details

Directed by Shariq Minhaj, the film features Neelima Azeem, Tahir Kamal Khan, Anjan Srivastava, Divya Singh, Javed Haider, Sheesh Khan, and Vicky Ahuja in key roles. Produced by Vipul Shah and co-produced by Tariq Khan, ‘Delhi Bus’ is set to release on 29 November 2024. The film’s promotions are being handled by Sanjay Bhushan Patiala.
