Governor Haribhau Bagde Inaugurates New Entrance Gate of RTU

Kota, Governor and Chancellor of Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Shri Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, formally inaugurated the newly constructed main entrance gate of the university on Wednesday. Following the inauguration, the Governor also participated in a tree plantation drive within the campus.

According to RTU's Assistant Public Relations Officer Vikram Rathore, the long-awaited entrance gate has been built in accordance with local Rajasthani architectural traditions and the practical needs of the university. The new structure not only showcases the richness of Rajasthan’s heritage but also aims to offer a dignified and memorable experience to students and visitors alike.

During the ceremony, Kota District Collector Dr. Ravindra Goswami, Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan, RTU Registrar Murlidhar Pratihari, Finance Controller B.L. Meena, University of Kota Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.P. Saraswat, Inauguration Coordinator Prof. Dinesh Birla, and Prof. Vivek Pandey, along with deans and administrative officials from various departments, were present. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Registrar Murlidhar Pratihari.

In his address, Governor Bagde described the new entrance gate as a “symbol of pride, culture, and progress” for the university. “This gateway marks the beginning of a journey towards knowledge, research, and innovation,” he stated, highlighting RTU’s achievements in the field of technical education over the years. He extended his appreciation to the university administration, construction team, engineers, and workers for their efforts in completing the project with such elegance and efficiency.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K. Singh, in his welcome speech, called the inauguration a milestone in the university's continuous efforts to upgrade infrastructure and facilities for its academic community. “More than just a physical structure, this gate represents the dignity, tradition, and modernity of our institution. It will welcome thousands of students, teachers, researchers, and guests in the years to come, inspiring them with positive energy,” he added.

About the Newly Constructed Entrance Gate:

The magnificent new entrance of Rajasthan Technical University has been constructed using red and white Dholpur stones. Executed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), the gate is equipped with modern facilities such as a guardroom, ATM, CCTV surveillance, boom barriers, decorative LED lighting, intricately carved Rajasthani-style chhatris, and designated parking spaces both inside and outside.

The main gate measures 6 meters by 4 meters, with side gates measuring 2.25 meters by 4.65 meters. It features a two-way passage and is built in a traditional Rajasthani style, symbolizing the state's architectural grandeur and cultural legacy. To ensure safety and convenience, a dedicated security room and surveillance systems have also been installed.
