Farmer Training and Distribution Program on Guava Cultivation

A one-day farmer training and distribution program for adopting guava cultivation was organized by the All India Coordinated Fruit Project (AICFP) at MPUAT (Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology). Forty-five farmers participated in the program, where they received insights from subject matter experts Dr. K.K. Yadav, Dr. B.G. Chhipa, and Dr. Pokhar Rawal about advanced varieties of guava and scientific techniques for orchard planting.

Farmers were advised to intercrop guava with papaya, root crops in their spacing, and seasonal vegetables between the rows of guava to maximize profits. The program concluded with the Regional Research Director, Dr. Amit Trivedi, and Project Coordinator, Dr. S.S. Lakhawat, distributing advanced guava saplings, fertilizers, pesticides, spray machines, and small agricultural tools to each participating farmer. Dr. S.S. Lakhawat expressed heartfelt gratitude to all subject matter experts and farmers for their participation in the program.
