Monaco Grand Prix Buzz: “Sound of Sting” Goes Global with F1 Legends and DJ Armin van Buuren Joining the Conversation

PepsiCo's electrifying beverage Sting Energy has officially entered the high-octane world of Formula 1 as the Official Energy Drink Partner, marking a multi-year global partnership. Even before the announcement, fans and influencers were already buzzing, all thanks to the viral phenomenon called the “Sound of Sting.”

This unique buzz began when world-renowned DJ and producer Armin van Buuren posted a video on May 23, 2025, isolating engine sounds from F1 races and discovering a striking similarity between the sound pitch of Sting Energy and F1 engines. The revelation instantly ignited curiosity across social media, with fans, content creators, and even F1 legends like 2009 World Champion Jenson Button and 2025 F2 Monaco Grand Prix winner Kush Maini acknowledging the uncanny resemblance.

As speculation soared, fans across the globe recorded engine sounds at the Monaco GP, confirming that Sting Energy’s sonic identity had already found a place in Formula 1—before any branding appeared.

DJ Armin remarked, “Sometimes inspiration hits from the most unexpected places—even a racing track. The Sting sound isn’t just an ad gimmick—it’s real.” Jenson Button added, “Once you hear it, you can’t unhear it. It’s unmistakably Sting.”

Vandita Pandey, VP Marketing - International Beverages, Energy, PepsiCo, called this a moment of sonic alignment, not just a sponsorship. “Sting Energy didn’t just join Formula 1—it’s always been a part of it, embedded in the sound and excitement of the sport,” she said.

This partnership will deliver immersive brand activations, co-branded products, on-pack promotions, and digital storytelling across all 21 races. Sting Energy aims to redefine F1 sponsorship with the power of sound, offering fans unforgettable, high-energy experiences both on and off the track.
