World Music Day World Music Day is being celebrated in 120 countries including India across the world. France incorporated this day as a day of national importance. Other countries adopted this later. Music is the heart and soul of human beings. There is a song for every shade of emotion. Nature has its own music. Trees, rivers mountains, oceans have their own rhythm and sound.
The first world music day was celebrated in the year 1982 in Paris. World Music Day is the brainchild of former French minister of culture, Jack lang, his main motive was to encourage more people to take up music seriously and professionally. Unlike other music festivals the world music day allows everyone to participate and show their musical abilities to the world.
I think the best way to celebrate this day is to spend the whole day listening to your favourite songs. Music has no language. In past few years even South Korean Gangnam style or South Indian Kolaveri D became so popular on Internet. Our minds and Soul respond to the rhythm of music. There is nothing in the world like the sound of your favourite song. These memories get stored in our subconscious minds and whenever we enter into any situation that particular song attached to this mood or emotion immediately click in our minds.
Victor huge said," music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent."
Today musicians from all age groups gather together to perform at various public places all over the world like streets, parks ,gardens, stadiums, stations or halls etc. These performances are free and anyone can attend or perform in his City. Over the years new Trends and types of Music and musical instruments have been adopted. The concept of celebrating this day worldwide is to bring Unity among all the different cultures.
Udaipurites are no longer behind from the rest of the world. Meera Girls College celebrated this day with staff and students. Dr. Ritu Matharu, Dr. Ajay Chowdhury, Dhulchand Parmar, Dr. Mukesh Vyas and Dr. Sunil Dutt Shukla were present on this occassion and shared their views on this day.
