Nutrition and livelihood security techniques need to be commercialized

Udaipur |  the Valedictory function of XXIII Biennial Workshop of All India Coordinated Research Project on Home Science, was held at College of Community and Applied Sciences, Maharana Pratap Agriculture and Technology University, Udaipur. The Chief guest of the program was Prof. N. S. Rathod, Deputy Director General, (Education), ICAR, New Delhi. Dr.S.K. Srivastava, Director, CIWA, Bhubaneswar, Dr. P.C. Lenka and Dr.Prabini kumar were the special guests of the occasion. In the beginning Prof. Ritu Singhvi Dean of the College welcomed the guests and participants.

Prof. Rathore in his address said that women are the integral part of this era .He appreciated three major aspects of  this workshop i.e. quality presentation, good interaction and way  forward .He emphasized on working  in integrated mode rather than isolated and concentration on empowerment of women.

 Guest of Honor Prof. Abhay Kumar Mehta, Director Research remarked that MPUAT Udaipur is having 37 ACRIP units which a thing of proud in itself. There is need for region specific research in AICRP on Home Science besides visibility of technologies is also needed.

Prof. Suman Singh, Organising Secretary of the workshop informed that total five technical sessions related to different areas of Home Science were organized in which technical coordinators of the concerning department presented the research work carried out at different  centers of the country. Discussions among the scientists were held regarding way forward for research in Home Science.
