Udaipur,A two-day national symposium on the topic of Skeletal Anchorage was successfully organized by the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Pacific Dental College & Research Centre, a constituent unit of Pacific Medical University, Udaipur.
Dr. Piyush Bolya, Head of the Department and Organizing Secretary, informed that this was the first event of its kind in the field of Orthodontics held in Udaipur, with participation from over 150 delegates representing various states across India. The symposium featured five eminent national speakers who shared their expertise and experience, making the event highly enriching both academically and professionally.
The distinguished speakers included Dr. Puneet Batra, President of the Indian Orthodontic Society; Dr. Sanjay Laabh, Secretary; Former President Dr. Jayesh Rehalakar; Dr. Vignesh Kailasam; and Dr. Divyarup Roy.
Dr. Bolya stated that the highlight of the symposium was a live clinical demonstration of Mini-Screw Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE), a technique used to correct maxillary constriction and promote jaw development. Delegates witnessed the complete procedural steps firsthand and had the opportunity to interact with experts during the session.
The interactive lectures delivered by the experts acquainted the participants with the latest research and cutting-edge techniques in orthodontics. The symposium served as a valuable platform for postgraduate students, clinicians, and academicians from across the country to gain in-depth knowledge of skeletal anchorage procedures.
