Successful Treatment of Premature Baby at PIMS in a Short Time

Udaipur. Doctors at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences, Udaipur, successfully treated a baby born at 26 weeks. The treatment was led by neonatologist Dr. Ankitkumar Panchal.

Chairman of PIMS, Ashish Agrawal, revealed that the baby was born prematurely at 26 weeks, weighing only 900 grams. The baby faced issues related to breathing, immature lungs, and difficulty digesting milk due to the premature birth. Due to the early birth, the baby was admitted to the intensive care unit (NICU) for intensive medical care. After spending a full 70 days in the neonatal intensive care unit, the baby was discharged. This endeavor involved the crucial contributions of pediatric department head Dr. Vivek Parasara, Dr. Rahul Khatri, Dr. Shrey Agrawal, residents Dr. Shubhajit, Dr. Amita, Dr. Vaishali, Dr. Neha, Dr. Poojan, Dr. Vishal, Dr. Shivani, nursing in-charge Reshma, and nursing staff Shivkumar, Amit, Rahul, and Deepak.

Mr. Agrawal mentioned that the baby is now healthy, and the treatment was provided free of cost under the government's health scheme.
