68th National School Girls Cricket Tournament (Under-19)

Udaipur: Preparations for the 68th National School Girls Cricket Tournament (Under-19), organized by SGFI and hosted by MGGSS Sundarwas, Udaipur, from 29th January to 3rd February, are in the final stages. Teams from across the country have started arriving in Udaipur for the competition. On Monday afternoon, the Maharashtra team was the first to arrive by train, followed by teams from Telangana and Uttar Pradesh who reached by train later in the evening.

District Education Officer Dr. Lokesh Bharti mentioned that the arrival of teams will continue from early Tuesday morning until late evening. Transport committee members have been stationed at the railway station and bus stand to ensure the teams are transported by bus to their accommodation. To avoid any issues at the accommodation, members of the accommodation committee have been assigned to oversee the process, with female staff being authorized to enter the rooms of the teams.

Dr. Bharti directed the various committees formed for the smooth conduct of the competition to create WhatsApp groups and coordinate effectively, ensuring each committee fulfills its responsibilities diligently. He emphasized that Udaipur has always hosted events in the best possible way, and this national competition should reflect the same standard. Additional District Education Officer Murli Dhar Chobisa shared that 22 teams from across the country, including Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Bengal, Kerala, Punjab, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Bihar, CBSE WF, IPSC, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, CISCE, and Rajasthan, will be participating in this national competition.

Sub-District Education Officer Lakshman Salvi and the Principal of the organizing school, Ashutosh Tuli, stated that Dr. Lokesh Bharti had convened an important meeting with the committee heads at Fateh School, where they were briefed on the progress made so far.

The meeting was attended by various officials, including Fateh School Principal Chetan Paneri, JP Bhavsar, Senior Physical Education Teacher Vijay Singh Rawat, State General Secretary of the Rajasthan Physical Education Teachers’ Association Bhairu Singh Rathod, and Gopal Singh Asoliya. A control room for the national cricket competition has been set up at PM Shri Government Fateh School for managing transportation and other logistics.

JP Bhavsar shared that the matches will be held across six different grounds in the city. SGFI has released the match schedule, which will include league matches from 29th January to 31st January. Based on the points from the league, knockout matches will begin on 1st February. The semifinals and the hardline match will take place on 2nd February, and the final match of the national competition will be held on 3rd February.
