Pacific University Hosts International Conference

Udaipur,  Pacific University inaugurated a three-day international conference on Integrative Chemistry, Biology, and Translational Medicine at the auditorium, where scientists from five continents shared their research insights and perspectives.

The chief guest and Dean of Colleges at Delhi University, Prof. Balram Pani, shed light on the significance of research in the development of medicine through data analysis and artificial intelligence. Prof. Pani emphasized the ethical use of scientific research and encouraged scientists to utilize their findings for the greater good.

During the opening session, Prof. Julian Leskar, Principal Investigator at the M.I.T. Singapore, discussed the challenges and advancements in malaria prevention, including the development of new drugs and vaccines. Prof. B.P. Sharma, the Chairman of UNESCO M.G.I.E.P., commended Pacific University for organizing the socially impactful conference, considering it a milestone in Udaipur's educational landscape.

The inauguration also marked the launch of the Pacific Journal of Medical and Health Sciences by Pacific Medical College and Hospital. The journal showcases noteworthy research in the field of medicine, both nationally and internationally.

Conference Chairperson Rahul Agrawal highlighted how India successfully navigated the global pandemic by focusing on relevant research. He credited the development of Covishield and Covaxin to the dedication of researchers, enabling the vaccination of millions of Indians.

Dr. Prabha, Principal of Hansraj College, New Delhi, expressed in her address that the conference provides a significant platform for the convergence of Biology, Chemistry, and Translational Medicine. She emphasized the importance of collaborative research in developing effective and validated medicines.

According to Sharad Kothari, CEO of Pacific Group of Education, the conference is a collaborative effort between Pacific University Udaipur, Hansraj College Delhi University, Mayo Clinic USA, Hittrokem Inotech Pvt. Ltd., and Pacific Medical University Udaipur.

Conference Convener Dr. Brijesh Rathi highlighted the potential benefits of integrating medical and pharmaceutical education with advanced training and technology. The inaugural session was conducted by Dr. Priyavada Singh, Principal of Miranda House College, Delhi.

Prof. Akhilesh Verma from Delhi University discussed the real-time monitoring of organic reactions using an online mass spectrometer. Prof. Yogendra Singh from the Delhi School of Public Health emphasized the importance of protein phosphorylation for energy development and maintaining balanced metabolic functions.

Dr. Alferova from the Russian Academy of Sciences advocated for the use of natural antibiotics, asserting their superiority over chemical antibiotics in terms of effectiveness and long-term results.

Dr. Chitale from Mayo Clinic Florida enlightened the audience about disease prevention through artificial intelligence. Dr. Pulin Gupta from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi, highlighted effective network strategies for combating dengue in the country.

Prof. Rajasekhar from South Africa discussed drug discovery and synthesis, emphasizing the need for innovative tools and approaches. Dr. David from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, stressed the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and industries for cost-effective drug development and enhanced practical knowledge for students.

Prof. Ashutosh Mishra from IIT Hyderabad explained the biological behavior of flavonoids and their applications in biosensors and enzymatic reactions.

Dr. Prerna Sharma from the Indian Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences focused on the mental well-being of youth and the importance of creating a supportive and safe environment for their overall development.

President of Pacific University, Prof. K.K. Dave, informed that a grand poster presentation featuring 200 posters showcasing research by scholars was organized during the conference.

Dean of PG Studies, Prof. Hemant Kothari, described the first day of the conference as successful and encouraging for students. He emphasized how students had the opportunity to interact personally with representatives from around the world, gaining valuable insights into their respective fields.
