New Delhi, In a significant step towards expanding access to quality military-oriented education, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has opened the online portal for the fourth round of registration for setting up New Sainik Schools under the partnership model. Interested and eligible schools, NGOs, trusts, and private organizations can now apply through the official website https://sainikschoolsociety.in from May 15 to June 14, 2025.

This initiative is part of the Government of India’s vision to establish 100 New Sainik Schools in collaboration with State Governments, NGOs, and the Private Sector. These schools are aimed at providing students with a well-rounded education aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), while also nurturing qualities that prepare them for leadership roles and potential careers in the Indian Armed Forces.

A total of 86 schools have already been approved under this partnership model in earlier rounds. These New Sainik Schools, in addition to being affiliated with their respective education boards, will function under the Sainik School Society and follow its prescribed rules and regulations.

Besides regular academics, these schools will implement an Academic-Plus Curriculum, incorporating physical fitness, discipline, leadership, and national values — a hallmark of traditional Sainik School education.

The Ministry has encouraged all eligible institutions across the country to register and become part of this nation-building mission.
