KONARK CORPS ORGANISES MEL MILAP WITH VETERANS AT  PITHEWALA AND MEDICAL CAMP AT RAMGARH

Ahmedabad:  Battle Axe Division team led by Lieutenant Manya covered a distance of 171 Kilometres today as part of Konark Corps Cyclothon and reached Pithewala, a remote village in Rajasthan. The team was flagged off by the war veteran Naik  Chotu Singh, Shaurya Chakra (Retired). There was a plantation drive carried out by the team at Srimohangarh prior to  flagging off.

War veterans Brigadier  Khosla (Retired) and Colonel Prasad, (Retired) who were part of  the 1971 war, applauded the efforts of Konark Corps to commemorate the historic win through video messages. The brave hearts felt nostalgic over the remembrance of the operations in 1971.

The team also visited places of historical importance like Mohangarh fort en route. The locals and youth at Nachna, Bhala and  Bharewala were overwhelmed to listen to the saga of valour of our war heroes. While interacting with them ,the team also reiterated the COVID precautions to be followed and distributed corona prevention kits to the local populace. Today’s expedition culminated at Pithewala and was flagged in by Honorary Captain Gowardhan Singh (Retired),  9 Rajputana Rifle who participated in Operation Bluestar and Operation Vijay.

 Team from Indian Army organised a medical camp at the  border town of Ramgarh. The event witnessed active participation and healthy footfall of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naaris and their Next of Kin. The medical camp, in addition to providing medical facility and advice, also endeavoured to create awareness about COVID-19 pandemic and its preventive measures.
