BN Public School Organizes World Athletics and World Asthma Day

Udaipur, : The Bhupal Nobles Public School celebrated World Athletics Day with fervor and enthusiasm on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Dr. Seema Naruka, the principal, highlighted that the school hosted various sports-related activities on this special occasion, engaging students from Nursery to 12th grade with great enthusiasm. She mentioned that the World Athletics Day was first observed in 1996 with the primary aim of promoting a culture of sports among children from an early age. Participation in sports fosters discipline, teamwork, cooperation, patience, and tolerance, leading to holistic development. The sporting activities at the school were supervised by Mahipal Singh Jhala.

All students participated in a one-mile race competition. Through speeches, students emphasized the significance of World Athletics Day. The results of the one-mile race competition were categorized into three groups: Pre-Primary, Classes 6 to 8, and Classes 9 to 12. In the Pre-Primary category, Janvi Ragar secured first place, Mitanshi Bairwa stood second, and Bhavya Patel secured third place. In the Classes 6 to 8 category, Rajdeep Singh, Puran, and Paridhi clinched the first position, while Tribhuvan, Shakti Singh, and Shivansh secured second place, and Kunal, Anurag, and Mahivardhan secured third place. In the Classes 9 to 12 category, Neha Kanwar secured first place, Riddhima secured second place, and Riddhiraj secured third place.

In addition to the sports event, on the occasion of Guru Dev Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary, students were educated about his life and contributions.

Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore, a faculty member of BN Pharmacy, highlighted the observance of World Asthma Day worldwide. This year, it fell on May 7. The objective of commemorating this day is to raise awareness about asthma among people. Asthma is a serious respiratory illness that affects both children and adults. This year's theme is 'Asthma Education Empowerment.' According to the Global Asthma Report 2024, around 35 million people in India suffer from asthma. Ten percent of asthma cases worldwide are reported in India, with 15 percent of cases occurring in children.

The executive president of the institution, Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, secretary Dr. Mahendra Singh Agariya, and managing director Mohabbat Singh Rathore, in their messages, emphasized the importance of sports awareness among students, teachings of Guru Dev Tagore, and measures for asthma prevention.
