 BNU :Pharmacy Education Innovation Discussed

Udaipur, March 28: Dr. Montu Patel, the President of the Pharmacy Council of India, graced Bhupal Nobles College of Pharmacy in the city of lakes, Udaipur, with his presence, enlightening everyone about the latest innovations in pharmacy education. Various pharmacy colleges of Rajasthan warmly welcomed Dr. Montu Patel in the BN Seminar Hall, acknowledging his contributions and honoring him during the event. Dr. Patel delivered a lecture on crucial issues and engaged in a discussion about innovations in his address.

Colonel (Prof.) Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, Chairman of Bhupal Nobles University, along with President Dr. Mahendra Singh Agariya and Registrar Mohabbat Singh Rathore, welcomed and honored Dr. Montu Patel, the President of the Pharmacy Council of India. Dr. Patel disclosed plans for the joint registration of pharmacists in central and state councils, aiming to eliminate registration barriers across states. Additionally, he announced the development of a new curriculum aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.

Dr. Montu Patel revealed the scheduling of the first exit exam for Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) students in September 2024. He also urged for the registration of all pharmacists, doctors, and nurses to optimize human resources during pandemics. Furthermore, discussions were held regarding the positions of clinical pharmacists in hospitals. The ratio of 1:20 between teachers and students will be maintained, and educational institutions will be monitored using an online inspection and Google-based attendance system to ensure authenticity.

Dr. Montu Patel advocated for stricter penalties against illegal practices. He proposed the undertaking of M.Pharm projects in industries, facilitating the preparation of job-ready candidates and bridging the gap between educational institutions and industries. Deans and faculty members from various colleges in Rajasthan expressed gratitude to Dr. Montu Patel for sparing time to visit Bhupal Nobles College and for providing guidance, encouragement, and support to faculty members, paving the way for a brighter future for the pharmacy profession. The program was conducted by Alok Bhargav, and the information was provided by Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore, the Public Relations Officer.
