Tribal Region Athletes Bring Glory to Rajasthan – TAD Minister

Udaipur,Rajasthan's lacrosse players, who returned victorious from the national competition held in Agra with five gold and one bronze medal, were warmly felicitated by the Tribal Area Development Minister, Shri Babulal Kharaḍi.

The cabinet minister visited the sports hostel in Udaipur and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the players for their historic achievement. He praised the exceptional performance of athletes from the tribal belt, stating that they have brought immense pride not just to Udaipur but to the entire state of Rajasthan.

Minister Kharaḍi assured full support for promoting sports and wished the athletes continued excellence. He also encouraged them to avail benefits of various sports promotion schemes run by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma.

Coach Neeraj Batra and the medal-winning players expressed gratitude for the minister’s continuous efforts in uplifting lacrosse and nurturing talent from the Udaipur division and tribal areas.

Prominent among the medal winners were international athletes Sunita Meena, Jula Kumari Gurjar, Dali Gameti, Meera Dauja, Hemlata Dangi, Mohanlal Gameti, and Khumaram Gameti.

It is noteworthy that in the 3rd National Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior Lacrosse Championships (Men & Women) held in Agra from April 29 to May 1, 2025, Rajasthan athletes made history by winning gold medals in senior men’s and women’s, junior girls’, and sub-junior boys’ and girls’ categories, along with a bronze medal in the junior boys’ category.
