Bringing small complaints to the Commission is not appropriate:

**Directive to Provide Relief to Victims at the Local Level**
**Review Meeting of the Human Rights Commission**

**Officials Asked for Reports on Pending Cases**

Udaipur, Justice Ramchandra Singh Jhala, the Acting Chairman of the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission, stated that bringing small complaints to the Human Rights Commission is not appropriate when their resolution can easily be achieved at the local level. There should be no unnecessary inconvenience to the public. Officers should, as far as possible, address these issues at their level in accordance with regulations and provide relief to people.

Jhala was addressing a review meeting of pending complaints in the Human Rights Commission held at the District Council Hall in Udaipur on Wednesday. He mentioned that the Commission receives numerous complaints from across the state. The Commission seeks reports from the concerned officials on these complaints. This time, the Commission decided to review these complaints at the district level so that people can get relief as soon as possible. Referring to complaints related to various government schemes, he said that there are guidelines for government schemes, and officers should resolve such complaints at the preliminary level by testing eligibility criteria in accordance with these guidelines. There are also many complaints related to land disputes. If a little seriousness and sensitivity are shown, these complaints can also be resolved. Jhala said that there is often dissatisfaction with investigations into complaints against police personnel. Directives were given to conduct investigations into such complaints by officers other than those from the same police station.

Initially, Police Superintendent Yogesh Goyal and Additional District Collector City Rajeev Dwivedi welcomed Commission Chairman Jhala and Registrar Shailendra Vyas. In the meeting, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Girwa Ria Dabi, CEO Smart City Krishnapal Singh Chahuan, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gogunda Naresh Soni, Private Assistant to the Commission Chairman Mahesh Parikh, and Prem Singh, along with officials from various departments, were present.

Resolution of 10 cases, fresh reports sought in 7 cases

A review of pending cases in Udaipur district was conducted in the meeting of the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission. The Commission sought reports from the concerned officials regarding department-wise pending cases. Private Assistant Mahesh Parikh mentioned that there are approximately 150 complaints pending in the Human Rights Commission from Udaipur district. Reports were pending on 38 of these complaints. During the meeting, reports were obtained for each of these 38 complaints. Resolution was reached for 10 complaints. Responses were sought from respondents regarding actions taken at the department level in 3 cases. Fresh reports were sought from concerned officials in 7 cases, and necessary directions were given based on departmental reports in the remaining cases.
