Udaipur, Friday: On the birth anniversary of Mewar’s beloved leader, freedom fighter, and former Home Minister of Rajasthan, Late Gulab Singh Shaktawat, a solemn tribute gathering was held on Friday from 9 to 10 AM at his memorial in Ashok Nagar.
On this occasion, his son Devendra Singh Shaktawat, grandson Vindhya Raj Singh, and the son of late Gajendra Shaktawat lit the ceremonial lamp and offered floral tributes.
All present paid heartfelt homage while recalling the unparalleled contributions of Shaktawat Ji to the nation and society.
Distinguished attendees included former Speaker of the Assembly Shantilal Chaplot, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) General Secretary and Spokesperson Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Fahat Singh Rathore, Kachru Lal Choudhary, Bhim Singh Chundawat, Daryav Singh Chundawat, Suresh Shrimali, Dinesh Shrimali, Dr. J.K. Chhaparwal, Ajay Singh, Madan Singh Babarwal, Khyalilal Suhalka, Dileep Sukhadiya, Mahesh Tripathi, Sajjan Katara, Sanjay Mandwani, Subhash Chittora, Kripashankar Mishra, Naresh Sahu, among other Congress workers and social activists.
Following this, another tribute program was organized at the Congress Media Centre, Dharm Mandi (Rakhsa Bandhan), to honor the life and legacy of this noble son of Mewar. The gathering remembered Shaktawat Ji as a fearless freedom fighter, devoted public servant, and a symbol of integrity who dedicated his entire life to national service, social upliftment, and welfare.
Pankaj Kumar Sharma, RPCC General Secretary and Spokesperson, offered floral tributes to the portrait of Shaktawat Ji and shared inspiring words. He remarked that "Gulab Singh Shaktawat’s life is a shining example of struggle, courage, and selfless service. His role was pivotal not only in India’s freedom struggle but also in shaping post-independence Rajasthan and awakening social consciousness."
Leaders and party workers present at the event fondly remembered his patriotism, dedication, and unwavering spirit of service. Speakers highlighted that true public servants, like Shaktawat Ji, work for the people without selfish motives, leaving a lasting impact on generations.
Sharma further stated, "Such personalities are born once in an era. Shaktawat Ji was not merely a politician—he was an ideology, a movement, and a wellspring of inspiration for the youth. His life is a model for nation-building."
The event concluded with a collective pledge to follow in his footsteps and spread his ideals throughout society.
