Kota, The Rangitika organization, dedicated to literature, performing arts, and music, held a Kavya Ratna Award ceremony in memory of the late educationist Shivprasad Sharma at Moti Moti Mahal Hotel.
During the event, poets and artists were honored by the guests. Rajendra Kumar Shantey from Jhalawar, writer Dr. Krishna Kumari from Kota, and performing artist Brijraj were awarded the "Kavya Ratna" honor along with a cash prize of Rs. 2100, a certificate of appreciation, and a memento. Additionally, the new members of the organization’s executive committee were welcomed with garlands.
In his address, the ceremony president and writer Atul Kanak emphasized the importance of continuing such memorial programs for elders. He mentioned several similar events, highlighting their role in preserving cultural and literary heritage.
Special guest Bhagwati Prasad Gautam spoke about the works and personality of the late Shivprasad Sharma, stressing the need for ongoing dialogue to keep the memories of literary figures alive. Another special guest, Jitendra Nirmohi, introduced poet Rajendra Kumar Shantey, noting Jhalawar’s rich tradition of "Madhushala" poetry and expressing hope that the event would soon gain national recognition.
Vijay Joshi, also a special guest, stressed that students' simplicity and spontaneity should never be suppressed, as doing so can lead to stress and self-destructive behavior. He praised the organization’s efforts to promote culture, literature, and art, calling it a collective responsibility to support such initiatives.
Special guest Jagdish Soni Jaljala stated that Shivprasad Sharma never treated literature as a business. He inspired the audience by reciting one of Sharma’s heroic poems. Mahesh Pancholi introduced performing artist Brijraj, while Rita Gupta introduced Dr. Krishna Kumari. Organization president Snehlata Sharma welcomed everyone and gave an overview of the organization’s work.
Kosiki Sharma presented a poetry reading. The program began with guests lighting lamps before the images of Goddess Saraswati and the late Shivprasad Sharma. Madhubala performed a devotional song to the Goddess. The event was conducted by poetess Garima Garvit Rakesh.
Many notable writers from the Hadoti region, including Ramswaroop Moondra from Bundi, Raghuraj Singh Karmyogi from Kota, Dr. Vaidehi Gautam, and others, were present at the ceremony.
