Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) 2026 to be held in New Delhi

Jaipur : The world-renowned Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) will host its next edition in New Delhi this time.

 The grand festival will take place from 13th to 15th February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The organizers announced the first list of officially selected films on Wednesday.

 Festival spokesperson Rajendra Bora informed that this year, 221 films from 37 countries have been selected in the competition categories. These films were chosen from among 1,785 submissions received from 78 countries.

 

As per the categories, the selected films include Feature Fiction – 38, Documentary Feature – 9, Animation Feature – 4, Short Fiction – 121, Documentary Short – 27, Animation Short – 15, Web Series – 2, Mobile Films – 4, Ad Film – 1, and Student Films – 23.

 

Out of these, 122 films are from India, while 99 films are from abroad.

 

Festival Founder Director Hanu Roj shared that the selection was made after a highly rigorous evaluation process. The selection committee consisted of 38 filmmakers from 21 different countries. The second list of selected films will be announced on 5th December 2025.

 

He further informed that this year’s selected films include entries from India, Canada, Liberia, Pakistan, Korea, Russia, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Finland, United Kingdom, United States, Israel, Portugal, Iran, Poland, France, Denmark, Italy, Bulgaria, Brazil, Norway, Colombia, Argentina, Ireland, Turkey, Singapore, Australia, Spain, Romania, Austria, Serbia, Japan, Netherlands, Germany, Philippines, Lebanon, and Qatar.

 

Some of the notable Feature Fiction films selected this year include —
‘Chewing Gum’ (Abhay Sharma, India), ‘Rattlesnake Point’ (Alberto Diamante, Canada), ‘No, Not Me!’ (Liberia), ‘Jameela’ (Pakistan), ‘Behind Our House Is a Garden’ (Russia), ‘Three’ (UAE), ‘After Us, The Flood’ (Finland), ‘Pratishtha’ (India), ‘Raktbeez’ (India), and ‘Dream of Liberation’ (Iran) among others.

 

According to Hanu Roj, this year’s edition will be organized under the banner of “JIFF – NDFF GLOBAL CINE CONFLUENCE, Delhi Film Convention & Summit 2026”, and will serve as a grand celebration of Indian cinema’s global identity, cultural heritage, and cinematic excellence.

 

Hanu Roj explained that this year, the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) is being organized in New Delhi to strengthen the vision of “JIFF – NDFF GLOBAL CINE CONFLUENCE, Delhi Film Convention & Summit 2026.”


The decision aims to bring Indian cinema to the global forefront, foster international collaboration, and position India as a Global Hub of Cinema.


He added that hosting the festival in the national capital will provide a common platform for filmmakers, producers, distributors, artists, and policymakers from around the world to come together and explore new dimensions of cinema, culture, and creative cooperation.

 

The festival’s aim is to celebrate the glory of Indian cinema on the global stage, foster international dialogue, and provide a meaningful platform for emerging filmmakers worldwide.
