Udaipur – The five-day Rajasthan Trade Expo, organized by the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) in collaboration with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, commenced on Wednesday at UCCI. The event features 125 exhibitors from across the country, showcasing a diverse range of products through their stalls.
The event began with a tribute to Arvind Singh Mewar, a member of the Mewar royal family, with a two-minute silence observed in his honor. His significant contributions to the comprehensive development of Udaipur and its global recognition in the tourism sector were remembered.
UCCI President M.L. Lunawat stated that the trade expo would provide a robust platform for entrepreneurs in the region, enabling them to showcase their products, explore new business opportunities, and foster entrepreneurship, startups, and investments. This initiative is expected to generate employment, particularly in tribal areas. He urged the state government to simplify and expedite the approval process for new industries to enhance the ease of doing business in Rajasthan.
Jitendra Singh Rathore, Co-Chairman of PHDCCI Rajasthan Chapter, highlighted that the trade expo, Rightex, would significantly boost the industrial sector and drive innovation. He also introduced the Rajasthan Tourism Awards initiative, aimed at encouraging innovation in tourism. The award ceremony is scheduled for March 20 at Tathastu Resort.
Ajay Pandya, In-Charge of RIICO Udaipur, and Shailendra Sharma, Joint Director of the District Industries Center, commended UCCI and PHDCCI for hosting an event of this scale in Udaipur. Pandya shed light on the direct allotment process of industrial plots under Rising Rajasthan, anticipating a favorable investment climate in the state. He revealed that 6,000 plots, including 132 in Udaipur, are slated for allocation and urged investors to explore opportunities in Salumber and Rishabhdev, where RIICO is developing new industrial zones.
Sharma encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage various government schemes and international trade exhibitions under the One District, One Product initiative announced in December 2024.
Naveen Seth, Deputy Director General of PHDCCI, expressed gratitude to UCCI for facilitating this grand event. He highlighted PHDCCI’s 173 active MoUs with various countries, offering opportunities for international trade delegations, business collaborations, and technology integration. He reiterated the chamber’s commitment to promoting state government policies and fostering new investments.
Dr. Pawan Talesara, Secretary-General of UCCI, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of PHDCCI, UCCI members, government departments, exhibitors, and stakeholders.
The event was moderated by Regional Director R.K. Gupta, who extended special gratitude to UCCI officials, local departments, and PHDCCI Udaipur Convenor Mukesh Madhwani. The dignitaries were also honored with mementos.
