DM  Nimit Mehta Advocates Stringent Action Against Illegal Mining

Bhilwara,  District Collector Nimit Mehta emphasized adopting tougher measures to eradicate illegal mining activities. Under the leadership of District Collector Nimit Mehta, a special campaign against illegal mining activities will be conducted in the district until May 15. Regarding the implementation of this campaign, District Collector Nimit Mehta and District Police Superintendent Rajan Dushyant held a joint meeting at the VC Hall of the District Collectorate on Wednesday, attended by all sub-divisional officers, tehsildars, police department officials, and relevant authorities.

During the meeting, District Collector Nimit Mehta directed officials to take increasingly strict action against illegal mining while maintaining zero tolerance. All necessary resources are being made available for this purpose, similar to previous actions taken against illegal mining. 

Monitoring to be conducted for twenty-four hours

District Collector Nimit Mehta also mentioned during the meeting that monitoring of the actions taken against illegal mining would be conducted. He instructed all sub-divisional officers to hold meetings with patwaris, revenue officials, etc., to raise awareness on this matter. He also urged them to conduct night patrols and monitor activities for twenty-four hours. Additionally, District Collector Nimit Mehta instructed mining engineers to provide necessary guidance. He asked sub-divisional officers to ensure strict action against illegal mining and activities related to it to free mining activities from the clutches of mafias. All sub-divisional officers provided information on the actions being taken against illegal mining.

Police Superintendent Rajan Dushyant instructed all sub-divisional officers and police officials to ensure concrete action against illegal mining and to ensure filing of FIRs. He emphasized strengthening the information system and taking action against illegal mineral stocks by conducting drone surveys promptly. He directed that sufficient police force be present during the campaign and assured all possible assistance and guidance.

Action against those compromising public health

During the meeting, District Collector Nimit Mehta discussed the progress of the ongoing campaign regarding food security with Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. CP Goswami. It was stated that under food security during the summer season, a campaign titled "Action against Food Adulteration" will be conducted. Under this campaign, cold drinks, ice creams, syrups, thandai, bakery and bakery products, large hotels, dhabas, and restaurants, khoya, paneer ghee, sweets, spices, re-used cooking oil used in production units, and sample verification and inspection by food security officers will be carried out. District Collector Nimit Mehta instructed to take necessary action against quacks and those compromising public health. He directed Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. CP Goswami to form a team and take action against chemists who sell drugs that lead to youth addiction and those chemists who provide drugs without prescriptions. In this regard, all block chief medical and health officers were given directions. He emphasized running drive for cleanliness and sanitation in offices and homes to prevent seasonal illnesses.

During the meeting, additional district collectors Ratan Kumar and Vandana Khorwal, ASP Vimal Singh, mining engineer Chandan Kumar, district transport officer Gaurav Yadav, additional police superintendent Rohit Kumar of the Women's Cell, CEO Shyam Sundar, city CEO Ashok Joshi, tehsildar Dinesh Yadav, and other officials were present from the district headquarters.
