Udaipur,  The indomitable spirit of Maharana Pratap was brought to life through an electrifying poetic evening at the Padmini Auditorium of the Pratap Gaurav Kendra, on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Titled as a tribute of valor, the Kavi Sammelan echoed with odes to Mewar’s legacy, led by the resonant voice of Siddharth Deval, who opened the poetic discourse with:

“अब दया शब्द भी नहीं मिलेगा भारत के जज्बातों में,
बात के बदले बात करें लातों के उत्तर लातों में,
गिन भी ना पाओगे इतने शव ले जाना तोहफे में,
लो प्रताप के बेटों ने बंदूक उठा ली हाथों में।”

The auditorium erupted with thunderous applause and slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Maharana Pratap Amar Rahein” as each poet brought forth their verse, rooted deeply in valor, sacrifice, and national pride.

Serving as the host of the evening, renowned poet Prakash Nagori from Udaipur ignited patriotic fervor as he paid homage to Mewar’s warriors:

“हम शिवाजी, सांगा, पृथ्वीराज और प्रताप के बेटे युद्ध करते हैं, युद्ध से इन्कार नहीं करते...
वीर किसी भी कुर्बानी से डरा नहीं करते हैं, मातृभूमि पर मिटने वाले मरा नहीं करते हैं।”

Adding to the tide of emotion, eminent poet Satish Acharya from Rajsamand saluted the land of Mewar through his heartfelt lines:

“वीरता का स्वर्ग इस धरती पे है कहीं तो,
सच कहूं यारों वो अपना मेवाड़ है...”

“हम राणा के वंशज हैं तलवारों से खेला करते,
वक्त पड़े तो बन शंकर तांडव दिखलाया करते हैं...”

From Mavli, the youthful voice of Manoj Gurjar stirred the audience by drawing a bridge between Haldi Ghati and present-day patriotism:

“हल्दीघाटी ने जो गाया आज़ादी का राग सुनो,
मैं इस पूरे भारत को मेवाड़ बनाने निकला हूँ।”

Poet Nandkishore Akhilesh from Badisadri glorified the sacred soil of Medpat through verses that glowed with honor and pride:

“राणा सा है पौरुष जिसका साहस हाड़ी रानी है,
हम उसके धरती के बेटे हैं जिसका कण-कण स्वाभिमानी है...”

With boldness and clarity, poet Himmat Singh Ujjwal openly challenged adversaries through his fearless lines:

“सुण ले सुण ले पाकिस्तान, रे समझावे हिंदुस्तान।
धमकी देणी छोड बावळा, बिगड़ जावेली शान।”

Anshuman Azad from Nimbahera stirred a sense of inherited pride with his evocative declaration:

“जैवंता का जाया हूँ, मैं कीका की किलकारी हूँ,
बायण माँ का बेटा, मैं मेवाड़ी खड़क दोधारी हूँ।”

The poetic reverence continued with Golcha’s simple yet profound expression:

“प्रताप का गौरव हम आज गा रहे हैं,
उस नाम से अब तलक यश पा रहे हैं...”

Kumbhalgarh’s poet Gopal Sharma paid tribute to Maharana’s consort, evoking the silent strength of Rajput queens:

“आज आंगने मांड मांडनो, थू माथा ने संवार दे।
बणठन ने या अजबन जावे, हाथां में तलवार दे...”

Poet Purushottam Shakdwipi evoked the fire of revolution seeded in Pratap’s heart:

“चमक उठी थी वह चिंगारी, जो मेवाड़ धरा पर सुलग रही थी,
स्वतंत्र कराने मातृभूमि को, महाराणा के दिल में धधक रही थी।”

The auditorium, filled with students, youth, and literary connoisseurs, transformed into a vibrant epicenter of patriotism. The verses, steeped in sacrifice and nationhood, gave every listener a reason to reflect, rise, and revere.

Chief Guest of the event was Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, joined by Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, Udaipur Urban MLA Tarachand Jain, and Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena as special guests. Dr. Rajni P. Rawat also graced the occasion. All dignitaries urged the audience to imbibe the ideals of Maharana Pratap in daily life.

The event was organized under the leadership of Prof. Bhagwati Prakash Sharma (President, Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Samiti), Treasurer Ashok Purohit, Vice President Dr. M.M. Tank, Subhash Bhargav, and convened by CA Mahavir Chaplot with co-conveners Prof. Anil Kothari, Dr. Suhas Manohar, Shankar Lodha, Jaideep Ameta, and Dr. Vivek Bhatnagar.
