MPUAT :Pensioners' Protest Unfolds in Udaipur

Udaipur,  In a show of collective discontent, over 200 members of the Pensioners Welfare Society at Maharana Pratap Agriculture and Technology University took to the streets, staging a protest outside the administrative building at 11 o'clock this morning. The administration had been duly notified beforehand about the impending demonstration. Despite numerous engagements and appeals made through official channels and correspondences, the pensioners' concerns remain unaddressed, compelling them to resort to the drastic measure of staging a protest under the scorching sun.

The simmering frustration among the pensioners stems from the palpable lack of response and action from the university administration regarding their longstanding grievances. Despite earnest attempts by the pensioners' leaders to engage in dialogue with the administration, they were met with locked gates and closed doors, symbolizing a dismissive stance.

**Issues Persist: State Government Orders Await Publication**

Adding fuel to the fire, orders pertaining to pension adjustments, specifically the issuance of 46% and 50% Dearness Allowance (DA), sanctioned by the Rajasthan government, have yet to see the light of day. This delay contrasts sharply with the proactive measures taken by other agricultural universities and general universities across the state. Despite repeated pleas and reminders addressed to the administration, the much-needed directives have not been forthcoming, prompting the pensioners to escalate their protest.

**Demand: Prompt Issuance of Orders**

The pensioners are unequivocally demanding swift action from the administration, emphasizing the urgent need for the issuance of the pending orders to address their grievances. Failing this, they have resolved to continue their protest, holding the university administration accountable for any ensuing disruptions.
