CME Workshop on World Stroke Day Highlights ‘Setu’ as a Boon in Stroke Cases – Prof. Mathur

Udaipur. On the occasion of World Stroke Day, the Department of Neurology of the Super Speciality Hospital, affiliated with RNT Medical College, organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop under the chief patronage of Principal Dr. Vipin Mathur. The session was chaired by Dr. Tarun Ralot, Head of the Neurology Department, while CMHO Dr. Ashok Aditya graced the event as the Guest of Honour.

In his welcome address, Dr. Ralot explained the increasing prevalence of stroke cases in India and emphasized the need for continuous awareness and updated medical knowledge on the subject. He stated that the workshop aimed to keep doctors informed about stroke causes, prevention, and treatment, which are crucial for effective patient care.

Delivering his address, Principal Dr. Vipin Mathur said that stroke cases are rising rapidly in the country and that time plays a vital role in stroke management. Highlighting this year’s theme, “Every Minute is Valuable,” he stressed that timely hospitalization and treatment can save lives. However, many patients fail to reach hospitals in time, leading to severe complications such as brain hemorrhage. Dr. Mathur noted that the “Setu” bridging referral system at RNT Medical College and MB Hospital could prove to be a boon for stroke patients, ensuring quick and coordinated medical response. He urged doctors to remain vigilant and assist patients in reaching healthcare facilities without delay.

During the workshop, Dr. Mayank Chaudhary discussed the role of CT and MRI in stroke diagnosis, Dr. Gaurav Jaiswal spoke on neurosurgery during the golden hour, and Dr. Sawan Shukla and Dr. Shalini delivered lectures on brain hemorrhage and brain death, respectively. A quiz competition on stroke was conducted by Dr. Isha Shukla, in which Dr. Neha Jain, Dr. Aakash, and Dr. Sajid emerged as winners.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Shubham and senior technical assistant Rakesh Rathore. The workshop witnessed active participation from medical officers, physicians, and resident doctors from rural and urban areas, contributing to the shared goal of enhancing stroke management awareness and preparedness.
