Udaipur. To bring the unseen aspects of Mewar’s rich history, archaeology, environment, and craftsmanship to the public, two architects from Udaipur, Sunil S. Ladda and Priyanka Kothari, have launched a documentary titled 'Undekha.' The first episode, dedicated to the history of the coronation site in Gogunda on 28th February, the coronation day of the legendary Maharana Pratap, was launched on the eve of Maharana Pratap's coronation anniversary in the Panchayat Samiti hall of Gogunda, in the presence of locals and guests.
**A Moment of Pride for Gogunda:**
The first episode of the documentary was inaugurated by guests including Deputy Sarpanch Lakshman Singh Jhalla, former Deputy Sarpanch Pappu Rana, Gogunda Mandal President Nikhil Kothari, Advocate Khuman Singh Rao, Advocate Bhawani Singh Makwana, Prithvish Singh Chadana, and Kashi Ram, along with several intellectuals. The speakers at the event emphasized that it is a moment of pride for Gogunda that it was the place where Maharana Pratap’s coronation took place on 28th February 1572. They expressed their commitment to preserving and promoting the historical sites associated with Maharana Pratap through this documentary, bringing to light some unseen and unheard memories of the past.
**Gogunda Residents Thrilled to Discover the Hidden Facts:**
During the broadcast of the first episode of the documentary, architects Sunil S. Ladda and Priyanka Kothari highlighted the glorious moments of Gogunda’s history. They explained the significance of the coronation site, the sacred Mahadev Baodi (stepwell), its architectural intricacies, and its cultural importance. The documentary used cutting-edge AI technology to vividly depict the ancient form of the Baodi and brought it to life by demonstrating its workings, including the operation of the Rahat (water lifting device) and showing the audience sitting on the steps as if in a theater. The spectators were thrilled by this immersive experience. Ladda shared that this episode was made possible with the invaluable contribution of local intellectuals, historian Jitendra Suthar, and Dr. Lakshyraj Singh Mewar, a descendant of Maharana Pratap. The documentary was directed by filmmaker Jitendra Shastri. He mentioned that the documentary is available on YouTube on the "Undekha For You" channel.
