**Udaipur** – A significant development for serving and retired Central Government employees in the Mewar and Vagad regions, more than 12,000 families will soon benefit from the establishment of a CGHS Allopathic Wellness Center in Udaipur. The initiative follows the persistent efforts of MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat, leading to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare commencing the process of opening this much-needed facility.
Recently, during a program organized by the Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association in Udaipur, the need for such a center was highlighted. Retired BSF Commandant Prahlad Singh Jhala, DK Vyas, and Anand Singh Parihar shared the difficulties faced by Central Government employees and pensioners residing in Udaipur and surrounding districts like Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Banswara, Dungarpur, and Sirohi. Despite Udaipur being recognized globally as a tourist city and a hub for medical services, the lack of a Central Government Health Center has been a significant issue.
MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat, understanding the plight of the pensioners, assured them during the Monsoon session of the Lok Sabha that he would make every effort to establish a CGHS Wellness Center in Udaipur. Following his meeting with Union Health Minister Dr. JP Nadda, the Health Directorate has initiated the necessary steps to open the center.
**Expansion to Other Locations**
Along with Udaipur, the process of opening wellness centers has also begun in Hubli (Karnataka), Vasco-da-Gama (Goa), Sambalpur (Odisha), Kollam (Kerala), and Sahakamagar, Bangalore (replacing the extension counter). The Ministry of Health has requested information from the additional directors in these cities on the potential number of Central Government employees and pensioners residing in the area to expedite the establishment of these centers.
