The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee Legal Department is set to organize a series of ‘Save the Constitution - Samvaad Programs’ across all districts of Kota Division next month. These programs will be jointly conducted under the aegis of the State Legal Cell and District Congress Committees.
State Coordinator of the Legal Department, Advocate Akhtar Khan Akela, informed that an emergency meeting of district presidents from the division is being proposed soon to plan and execute the initiative effectively.
During a recent State-Level Legal Conference held at Indira Bhawan, the Rajasthan Congress Headquarters, key leaders including State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra and Legal Cell President Kuldeep Singh Poonia issued directives to all district units to actively participate in the movement.
Prominent attendees at the meeting included:
🔹 Omkareshwar Sharma – State General Secretary, Jhalawar
🔹 Virendra Sonagara – Jhalawar District President
🔹 Rajesh Sharma – State General Secretary, Kota
🔹 Suraj Singh Yadav, Bilal Ahmad Noori, and office bearers from Bundi and Baran districts
In his address, Kuldeep Singh Poonia expressed concern over:
Attacks on the Constitution, policies, and legal rights
Arbitrary arrests and misuse of investigative agencies
Religious freedom being compromised
The suppression of freedom of expression
Immunity from prosecution post-defections
The dismantling of India’s secular and inclusive legacy
He called upon all district units to run awareness programs to defend the Constitution, laws, and democratic principles, and if necessary, to undertake legal activism and advocacy.
In response, leaders from Kota Division — including Akhtar Khan Akela, Rajesh Sharma, and Omkareshwar Sharma — assured a coordinated rollout of Save the Constitution Dialogues across all districts, and even the possibility of launching an all-party national movement in the interest of protecting democracy and rule of law.
The event concluded with Akhtar Khan Akela and Kuldeep Singh Poonia ceremoniously welcoming Govind Singh Dotasra on stage.
