PM Modi Aims to Establish Global Recognition for India's Textile Industry

New Delhi, (Gpoendra Bhatt) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated one of the country's largest global textile programs, 'India Tex-2024,' in Delhi on Monday. India Tex-2024 is set to run from February 26 to February 29 and is considered the most extensive global textile program in the nation to date.

Prime Minister Modi initiated the event at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Monday. After inaugurating the expo, PM Modi mentioned that today's event is not just a textile expo; it is a source connecting India's glorious history with its present talent. India Tex is blending technology with tradition in the textile sector.

PM Modi stated that the valuation of the textile sector exceeds ₹12 lakh crores. He emphasized the government's efforts to increase the contribution of the textile sector to the development of a developed India. The expo, with a focus on fiber, fabric, and fashion, aligns with the Prime Minister's '5F Vision.'

PM Modi addressed the event on Monday, stating that the '5F Vision' journey extends from fiber, fabric, and fashion to foreign nations. The India Tex event aims to connect all elements of the textile value chain through the 'Five F' principle. PM Modi stressed the significant contribution of women to the textile sector, where 7 out of 10 weavers are women.

Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted the role of Khadi in empowering Indian women. He stated that over the past decade, the government's efforts have turned Khadi into a means of development and employment. PM Modi concluded by stating that the textile sector's contribution to building a developed India is vast, and the government is working extensively under the 'Four Ts' - Tradition, Technology, Talent, and Training.

Through 'India Tex-2024,' Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to give international recognition to India's textile industry. Rajasthan, with its traditional textile industry, including Bagru and Sanganeri prints, Kota Doria, Mothada sarees, and Bandhej from Barmer, is globally renowned. Exhibitions like these should also be organized by the Rajasthan government to promote its traditional textile industry. It remains to be seen what steps the Rajasthan government takes in this direction.
