than Sahitya Akademi, an autonomous institution established by the Government of Rajasthan to encourage, honour, and promote the province's literature, announced the outstanding awards for 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 on Monday. These awards were announced after approval in the meeting of the Academy Board held on Monday under the chairmanship of Academy President Dr Dularam Saharan. It is worth mentioning that on the demand of Dr. Dularam Saharan, the President of the Academy, who took charge last August, Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot and Art, Literature, and Culture Minister Dr. B.D. Kalla approved. After that approval, applications have been invited in the prescribed process, and these awards have been declared after evaluating the entries received. This is the first time in the academic history of the country that any academy has announced the outstanding awards of the previous years after the government's approval; otherwise, the awards of the chairless period always remained pending.
They will be given the awards for the year 2019-20. Academy Secretary Dr. Basant Singh Solanki said that in the awards of the year 2019-20, the highest Meera Award has been declared in the name of Jaipur resident Govind Mathur's poem 'Mud Kar Dekhte Hai Jeevan'. The Sudhindra Award for Poetry will be given to Jaipur resident Bhanu Bharvi's poem 'Rang Ab Woh Rang Nahi', the Rangeya Raghav Award for Prose will be given to Sandeep Meel's story 'Kokilashastra' from village Posani-Sikar, and the Devraj Upadhyay Award for criticism will be given to Udaipur resident Sadashiv Shrotriya's work 'Kavita Ka Parsh'. The Kanhaiyalal Sahal award for the miscellaneous genre has been declared in the name of Anta-Bara-born Om Nagar's diary 'Nib ke chire se', and the Devilal Samar award for the theatrical genre has been declared in the name of Jaipur-based playwright Ashok Rahi's work 'Vishnugupt Chanakya... aur Ravana Mil Gaya'. The Sumnesh Joshi Award for the first work will be given to Jodhpur resident story writer Madhav Rathod for the work 'Marks Mein Manu Dhundhti', and the Shambhudayal Saxena Award for children's literature will be given to Salambur resident Pankaj Veerwal Kishore.
The awards for 2020-21 have been named after- In the awards for the year 2020-21, Dr. R.D. Meera Puraskar, a Jaipur resident of Pilani origin. Saini's prose work 'Dear Olive' will be given. Bikaner-based Ghazalkar Ghulam Mohiuddin Mahir has been given the Sudhindra Award for poetry for his work 'Aatshe-Kalbo-Jigar', Udaipur-based story writer Reena Menaria for her work 'Banas Par', and Devraj Upadhyay Award for criticism has been declared for Lalmaddi-Nathdwara resident critic Madhav Nagda for his work 'Contemporary Hindi short story and today's reality'. The Shambhudayal Saxena Award for Children's Literature will be given to Jaipur resident Puran Sarma's children's novel 'Sadbhav Ka Ujala', the first work Sumanesh Joshi Award to Ajmer resident Ghazalkar Brijesh Mathur. On the other hand, the Kanhaiyalal Sahal Award for various genres has been declared for Jaipur resident Uma for the work 'Kissagoi', and the Devalal Samar Award for Jaipur resident dramatist Rajkumar Bunkar Indresh.
Awards for 2021-22 were also announced. Under the awards for the year 2021-22, the highest Meera Award has been declared for Jodhpur resident Dr. Padmaja Sharma's work 'Mobile, Pick and Hostel and other stories'. Rangeya Raghav Award for Prose will be given to Dinesh Panchal, resident of Vikas Nagar, Dungarpur, for his work 'Khet', and Sudhindra Award for Poetry will be given to Jitendra Kumar Soni of Dhannasar-Hanumangarh for his poem 'Regmal'. The Kanhaiyalal Sahal Award in various disciplines will be given to Salambur resident Vimla Bhandari for her travelogue-memoir 'Adhyatma Ka Wah Din', and the Devraj Upadhyay Award in the field of criticism will be given to Sirohi resident Odisha migrant Dinesh Kumar Mali for her work 'Tretaru Ek Samyak Vyasa'.
